Education Quality Foundation of India (EQFI) evolved from an innovative movement that was started under the guidance of some of the best talents in the field of education from all over India. It is the endeavour of EQFI to reshape how "quality" is perceived in the context of Indian education today. Mentored by experienced educationists in the field, EQFI has systematically approached the issue of quality keeping in mind the specific working conditions and needs of the Indian school system.

EQFI is a not-for-profit Trust registered in 2007 in New Delhi. The Foundation has brought together eminent educators, academicians, school leaders, members of civil society, education technologists, curriculum specialists, child development specialists and researchers working to create data based indicators of school excellence through accreditation and assessment solutions.

The team at EQFI has experience in conducting baseline and endline learning outcome assessment for various interventions across India, and has been formally accepted as an institutional member of the Network on Education Quality Monitoring in the Asia-Pacific (NEQMAP). NEQMAP has been convened by UNESCO Bangkok to strengthen education systems and improve the quality of education in the Asia-Pacific region through collaborative efforts.

EQFI has developed its own 'Quality Accreditation' standard document for school accreditation. It is a proud achievement to be selected as one of the empanelled agencies by CBSE for school accreditation.


EQFI believes in bringing quality in education by providing services and resources for improvement in the school education system. The Foundation aims to catalyse and enable paradigms of excellence in the school education system, and facilitate transformation of schools.


We at EQFI work to fulfil the following objectives:

  • Provide quality assessments to schools and give them accreditation based on quality parameters.
  • Rekindle consciousness about quality in schools, and enable them to demonstrate professional responsibility and accountability at the grassroots level.
  • Be recognised as a leader in quality improvement, thought leadership, services and resources for improving quality of education in the South Asian region.
  • Catalyse and enable paradigms of excellence in the school education system, and facilitate transformation of schools by conducting assessments of learning outcomes at various levels.
  • Recognise institutions that exhibit excellence in performance.
